In-text Citations

Your In-text Citations (sometimes known as in-line or parenthetical citations) should direct a reader in every case to the appropriate listing in the Bibliography, Works Cited, or References section, as appropriate.

  • Part of your own format review is to verify that, indeed, every in-text citation does correspond to a listing
  • Social Sciences students use superscript integers - these refer to footnotes, instead of in-text citations

Refer to this page to verify your citation method.
